!!! Please NOTE that we do not offer prescription lenses; you can purchase them locally.
Visit an optician or lens provider and ask for prescription lenses with a refractive index that fits your needs (1.56 or higher may be recommended).
Provide the sunglasses' measurements to ensure compatibility, especially noting the thickness and width of the lens area. For the ShadeFlow ND9 Filter Adjustable Sunglasses, the width should be around 47mm.
Confirm that the ring is compatible with prescription lenses of the required thickness (e.g., 5mm or thinner).
The adapter should be able to accommodate lenses between -100 and -400 degrees of prescription, Unfortunately, lenses for astigmatism cannot be used.
Clean the frame and lens area with a microfiber cloth to remove dust and ensure a smooth installation process.
Position the prescription lens carefully within the adapter ring. Make sure it fits snugly into the ring's frame without forcing it.
If needed, add a slight extra degree (e.g., +25 degrees) to the prescription to account for the sunglasses’ thickness.
Gently snap the adapter ring (with the prescription lens) into the designated lens area of the sunglasses.
Ensure that the lens sits securely and is flush with the sunglasses' frame. If there’s no adapter ring, directly insert the lenses into the frame by gently pressing them into place.
Once the lens is installed, ensure that the sunglasses’ adjustable ND filter mechanism still operates smoothly. There should be no obstruction or misalignment.
If the lenses do not sit perfectly or the filter mechanism becomes obstructed, remove the lenses carefully and realign them. Ensure the lenses are properly cut and adjusted for the sunglasses.
Professional Help: If you’re not confident in installing the lenses yourself, you can take the sunglasses to an optician or eyewear specialist. They can help install the lenses professionally to avoid damage to the frame or lenses.
Care: Handle the sunglasses and lenses carefully during the installation to prevent scratching the lenses or damaging the frame.
